Twitter, now known as X following its acquisition by Elon Musk, faced a service disruption this afternoon, leaving users encountering error messages when trying to access the platform. Reports from various websites indicating problems with popular online services revealed that users worldwide, including those in the UK, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Turkey, United States, and Indonesia, were experiencing issues.

While some users managed to briefly log in, they soon found the service unavailable again, whereas others reported accessing X but with slow performance. Recent updates suggest that users are now able to log in to the X social media platform again.

This incident marks the second major technical glitch Twitter has encountered this week, with a previous outage reported on Tuesday. Earlier this week, users in the UK and the US faced difficulties accessing the platform, as Downdetector recorded over 7,500 reports in the UK and more than 25,000 in the US, with a notable surge around 2 pm.

Downdetector’s data revealed a significant increase in reports around 3 pm, peaking at 14,897 before gradually declining. However, there are signs of reports rising once more. The 522 error, which occurs when the host website fails to communicate promptly with Cloudflare’s systems, has been identified as a contributing factor to the disruptions.

The widespread nature of the issues is evident as reports from various countries such as India, South Africa, Spain, Belgium, and Singapore have surfaced on downforeveryoneorjustme.com. Downdetector.co.uk also displayed a surge in reports around 3 pm, with numerous users in the UK and globally reporting similar problems.
