A manhunt is in progress for a suspected murderer who allegedly killed three individuals, including his pregnant ex-partner. Authorities in New South Wales, Australia, are searching for Julian Ingram, also known as Pierpoint, aged 37, in connection with the triple homicide that occurred in Lake Cargelligo on Thursday, January 22.
Police have confirmed that Ingram had been released on bail for previous domestic violence charges prior to the tragic incident. The victims, identified as Sophie Quinn, 24, and her companion John Harris, 32, were shot while driving a car on Bokhara Street in Lake Cargelligo, as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald.
After the initial shooting, Ingram allegedly proceeded to a residence in the town and shot Sophie’s aunt, Nerida Quinn, 50, along with Kaled Macqueen, 19, who sustained serious injuries. Macqueen was rushed to the hospital and is currently in a stable condition.
Ingram had a history of assaulting Quinn, leading to his previous arrest on charges of stalking, intimidation, and assault. Despite pleading not guilty, he was due to appear in court on February 3. Conditions of his bail included daily reporting to the local police and prohibition from contacting or approaching Quinn.
Authorities have confirmed that Ingram had a domestic relationship with one of the victims and emphasized that he did not possess a gun license. Descriptions of Ingram indicate him as having an Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, standing between 165cm-170cm tall, with a medium build, short dark hair, and brown eyes.
The suspect was last seen driving a Ford Ranger utility vehicle with NSW registration DM-07-GZ, characterized by council markings, a metal tray back, high visibility signs, and an emergency light bar on the roof. Following the incident, a significant police presence has been established in Lake Cargelligo, with 100 officers conducting a search for the fugitive.
NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Andy Holland has advised residents to remain indoors, avoid windows, and report any suspicious activities or vehicles to the authorities. Holland expressed condolences for the community, acknowledging the impact of the tragic events on the small town.
