A man, aged 39, has been formally accused of the homicide of a housekeeper who was found stabbed at her residence in a small village in Hampshire. The victim, identified as Gilly Livie, 68, was discovered with severe injuries at her thatched cottage in Cheriton, Hampshire. Emergency services arrived at the scene on January 9 at 10:30 am, but she was pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination revealed that she had succumbed to a stab wound to her neck.

Another man was also found at the location with serious injuries and was promptly taken to the hospital by Hampshire police. Subsequently, on Monday, the man was taken into custody on suspicion of murder after being discharged from the hospital.

In an official statement released on Tuesday, Hampshire police stated, “This evening, Daniel Livie, residing at Winstreet Close, Alton, aged 39, has been formally charged with murder.” Additionally, he is facing charges related to making threats to kill a man on January 8. Livie is scheduled to appear in court before Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
