This year, I’ve made the choice to decorate for Christmas earlier than usual. Often, when individuals do this and share it on social media, they face criticism and negative comments. However, in the realm of social media, pleasing everyone is impossible, so it’s essential to prioritize your own happiness!

The reason behind my early decorations this year is that my birthday falls six days before Christmas, and my partner’s is just three days after mine. This often results in us not being at home during the Christmas lead-up.

By putting up the decorations at the beginning of December, we previously had only a brief period to enjoy them. Given how beautiful they look, it would be a shame not to maximize our enjoyment of them.

Moreover, amidst the current prevalence of negative news, I firmly believe that embracing the joy that Christmas decorations bring is a valuable choice. Why not put them up early if they bring you immense happiness, especially when it doesn’t harm or offend anyone?

Many of us are spending more time at home, making it a simple and cost-free way to add cheer to your day, assuming you already possess a tree and decorations.

Critics may scoff, but decorating for Christmas is a delightful and engaging activity in itself. Pairing it with a glass of mulled wine or a hot chocolate enhances the experience further.

You can play festive tunes, dance around your living room, and unwind completely.

As Christmas advertisements flood screens and markets across the country, the approach of December 25 becomes undeniable. So, rather than resisting, it’s better to embrace the festive spirit!

Unpacking the decorations collected over the years evokes a warm and nostalgic feeling, especially with ornaments that hold sentimental value for you and your family.

We unpacked baubles acquired during past holidays, handmade ones gifted by friends, and of course, the tree wouldn’t be complete without some Jellycat decorations.

Additionally, we acquired a fresh wreath from a festive makers market to adorn our door, becoming the first household on our street to display one – setting a trend!

For those feeling a bit like Scrooge and in need of a mood booster, I encourage you to indulge in Christmas decorations.

Crank up the festive music by Michael Buble, Mariah Carey, and Kelly Clarkson, and allow the Christmas spirit to uplift your mood. I assure you, it will be a decision you won’t regret!
