Ukrainian drones have targeted a secretive Russian facility used for testing advanced weaponry, belonging to Vladimir Putin. The bold preemptive strike sought to disrupt Russian plans to launch highly advanced Oreshnik missiles. Military sources disclosed that Ukrainian drones successfully attacked the 4th State Central Inter-Service Test Range Kapustin Yar in the Astrakhan Region, approximately 500 miles away. The strike breached Russian air defenses, hitting a crucial assembly and testing building at the Kapustin Yar site near the Kazakhstan border.

Intelligence reports indicate that Putin may soon initiate a significant assault on Volodymyr Zelensky’s state, potentially involving the deployment of the nuclear-capable Oreshnik “super-weapon.” There are concerns that a potential Russian offensive on Ukraine could involve a destructive campaign targeting the country’s nuclear power plant substations, aiming to coerce surrender by disrupting essential electricity transmission infrastructure.

Russian military intelligence, GUR, has cautioned that Moscow plans to escalate intimidation tactics against European nations and the West to hinder support for Ukraine, particularly impeding efforts to counter Russian threats to key energy infrastructure. The destruction or disabling of these substations could isolate Ukraine’s nuclear power plants from the national energy grid, resulting in a loss of power and heat for the populace.

The Oreshnik missile, if utilized by Putin, would mark the second deployment this year following an earlier strike in Lviv. This weapon poses a significant risk to Europe, with the capability to reach London in mere minutes from a base in Belarus, as per Russian sources. The Kapustin Yar range, in addition to testing various missiles and air defense systems, is a covert Russian military testing site located in a remote, semi-arid steppe region. The timing of a potential Putin offensive coincides with Kyiv experiencing extreme cold temperatures, further complicating the situation for the Ukrainian population.

The ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure have already caused severe disruptions, impacting civilians across the country. Ukrainian military sources warn of Russia’s preparations for further aggression, including potential airstrikes and missile launches. The looming threat of a new Oreshnik strike coinciding with the Davos summit underscores Putin’s agenda to intimidate Western nations and delay critical agreements beneficial to Ukraine’s security and economy.

Recent Russian assaults in various Ukrainian regions, including Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Sumy, have resulted in casualties and injuries, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the country. The attacks on residential areas and energy facilities have further heightened tensions and raised concerns about the safety and well-being of Ukrainian civilians.
