US President Donald Trump was seen with a significant bruise on his hand today. The bruising could be due to common medications or aging, which makes the skin more delicate, as explained by a pharmacist. This incident follows Trump’s recent speech at the World Economic Forum where he confused Greenland and Iceland multiple times.
Photographs from a signing event in Davos captured Trump’s bruised hand as he launched his ‘Board of Peace’ initiative. The bruise extended from his middle finger’s knuckle to the base of his thumb, appearing red at the edges and black-blue in the center. Additionally, his hand and fingers seemed slightly swollen.
The White House attributed the bruise to Trump accidentally hitting his hand on the signing table during the event. They also mentioned his increased susceptibility to bruising due to daily aspirin intake.
According to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, the bruise developed during the event in Davos after the hand knock. A pharmacist highlighted that aging makes people more prone to bruising, especially those with fragile skin.
The pharmacist, Thorrun Govind, emphasized that aging leads to thinner skin, making blood vessels more vulnerable to breaks. She noted that aspirin can exacerbate bruising by slowing down blood clotting after minor injuries. Leavitt previously mentioned that frequent handshaking could cause tissue damage resulting in bruising.
Trump’s mental acuity was questioned once more following his speech where he mistakenly referenced Iceland instead of Greenland. Psychologist Dr. John Gartner suggested Trump displayed signs of dementia, pointing out a decline in his verbal proficiency over the years.
Despite Trump’s claims of excelling in brain function tests and being in good health as per his physician’s assessment, concerns over his mental state persist.
