Ten police cars and several armed officers responded to a shooting incident in Greater Manchester. Authorities reported that one individual sustained serious injuries and received on-site treatment following the incident in Urmston town center earlier in the evening.
According to a police spokesperson, the incident, involving a firearms discharge on Higher Road, Urmston, was reported around 8:42 pm. The area has been cordoned off, and emergency services are attending to the injured party. Enhanced patrols have been dispatched in the vicinity as investigations continue. Additionally, there are reports circulating on social media about a police helicopter monitoring the area.
A witness mentioned the presence of an ambulance inside the restricted area, noting the sight of what appeared to be a coat or jacket with padding material scattered on the ground, indicating medical assistance provided to someone. Crime Scene Investigators have now arrived at the scene on Higher Road where the cordon is established.
