Iran’s supreme leader has criticized Donald Trump for the harm and insults he directed towards Iran during recent anti-government demonstrations. Trump had previously threatened action against Iran but later took a more conciliatory stance, claiming that executions were not carried out.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in his first post since mid-January, accused protesters of being influenced by foreign elements, including Trump and other alleged terrorists. He attributed the unrest to “American sedition” aimed at undermining Iran.

Khamenei also pointed fingers at Israel and the US for causing significant damage and fatalities during the protests. Despite Trump’s warnings and military preparations, no strikes were initiated as advisors cautioned against the potential repercussions on regional stability and the global economy.

Trump praised Iran for not proceeding with the planned executions of hundreds of prisoners, acknowledging the decision and expressing respect for it. The situation in Tehran has calmed down, with daily life resuming, although internet restrictions persist.

Human Rights Activists News Agency based in the US reported a death toll of 3,090 from the unrest in Iran, marking one of the deadliest episodes in the country’s recent history. The situation continues to evolve, resembling the turmoil of the 1979 revolution.
