On New Year’s Eve, Kieran Bassett, from Hastings, reportedly ingested an ecstasy tablet while at a gathering with friends, leading to a rapid deterioration in his health. He was swiftly taken to Conquest Hospital, where he was placed on life support but, despite medical efforts, succumbed to the effects of the drug shortly after. Mark Bassett, his grieving father, shared the heart-wrenching account of losing his son and emphasized the need to dissuade youngsters from drug use.
Mark Bassett disclosed to MailOnline, “The affordability of the pill compared to alcohol seems to be the primary reason behind his decision to experiment with the substance despite having a promising future.” He expressed concerns that the pill might have been contaminated or mixed with harmful substances, as suggested by law enforcement. Recalling the distressing scene of his son’s final moments, he described the harrowing experience of witnessing Kieran’s life slipping away, highlighting the devastating impact of drug misuse.
