Dollyfest, a music festival honoring the late Dolly Parton, will proceed in 2027 without the iconic singer. Originally scheduled for Parton’s 80th birthday, the festival was postponed due to health issues. However, Parton’s estate confirmed that the “star-studded” event will take place over two weekends in Nashville and London next year.
Known as the “Queen of Country,” Parton passed away last week at 80, leaving behind a legion of grieving fans. The festival aims to be a grand celebration reflecting Parton’s vibrant personality. Despite limited details released, the festival organizers promised an event true to Parton’s spirit, with dates and lineup still under wraps.
Dollyfest organizer Danny Nozell expressed commitment to honoring Parton’s legacy. The festival will embody her essence and provide a platform for global artists and fans to join in the celebration while allowing time for mourning and preparation.
Both Nashville and London held significance for Parton, having lived in Nashville and performed at London’s Wembley Arena during her illustrious career. In addition to Dollyfest, various tributes have emerged following Parton’s passing, including enhancements at Dollywood, the theme park she founded. Guests visiting the park in 2027 can share personal memories and reflections on Parton through interactive kiosks at Wildwood Grove.
Dollywood also announced new features inspired by Parton, such as a waterfall near the chapel and an attraction based on her Imagination Library initiative. The park preserves the memorial wall outside, allowing visitors ample time to pay respects. Sevierville, Parton’s hometown, will launch “In Dolly’s Footsteps,” a project featuring walking-tour markers at significant venues in her life story, like The Pines Theatre where she had her debut performance at age 10.
