Due to a significant construction project in downtown Guelph on Wyndham Street, Brothers Brewing had to forego opening their summer patio, leading to a decrease in foot traffic. To counter this, the brewery established a beer garden at the Guelph Lawn Bowling Club earlier this summer, proving to be mutually beneficial for both establishments.
Colton Proveau, co-owner of Brothers Brewing, emphasized the necessity of partnering with the club as brewery sales had dropped by approximately 50%. Despite facing challenges, the introduction of the beer garden at the bowling club proved to be a timely solution. Blake Skinner, the club’s president, noted that the beer garden has added an extra element of enjoyment, attracting newcomers to experience the sport of lawn bowling.
Local patrons, like Mathew and Jenna Holdom, who regularly frequented Brothers Brewing, seized the opportunity to try lawn bowling at the new beer garden.
