Attendees who visited a widely publicized show were left feeling disappointed and likened their experience to the infamous Willy Wonka Experience, dubbing it as being “Wonka’d.” The London-based Colourbeat Drums performance, promoted as a vibrant LED-drum show featuring epic film soundtracks, received scathing reviews. Attendees expressed their frustration online, criticizing the event for falling short of the advertised spectacle and being labeled as “amateurish” and “beyond horrible.”

The event, managed by FeverUp entertainment, failed to meet attendees’ expectations, with many complaining that the actual experience did not match the promotional hype. A dissatisfied attendee revealed that they paid £50 to witness the concert at the Shaw Theatre on Euston Road, only to find the performance lacking in quality and professionalism. Attendees lamented the poor production value, subpar audio, and disjointed performance that failed to deliver on the promised narrative.

Critics highlighted various shortcomings, including the use of cheap LED strips on the drums, lackluster musicality, and unimpressive staging. Participants described scenes as disconnected and narrations as lackluster, comparing the overall presentation to a substandard student project. Additionally, the performance involved unconventional drumming on plastic cones rather than drums, further adding to the disappointment.

Numerous attendees shared similar negative experiences, echoing sentiments of disappointment and embarrassment. Some attendees emphasized the amateurish nature of the performance, citing technical delays and underwhelming musical talent. The event garnered widespread criticism, with comments suggesting a lack of musical expertise and overall coherence in the show.

The discontented participants drew parallels between this disappointing event and the disastrous Willy’s Chocolate Experience, a widely mocked and unlicensed event that took place in Glasgow, Scotland, in February 2024. The comparison highlighted the perceived lack of quality and authenticity in both events, with attendees feeling misled and let down by the promised entertainment.

The Daily Mirror has reached out to FeverUp for their response to the criticisms and feedback regarding the underwhelming Colourbeat Drums performance.
