In London ahead of the festive season, Apple’s iPad is lighting up Battersea Power Station with 24 unique holiday designs. These colorful artworks were selected from numerous submissions in Apple’s “Your Tree on Battersea” contest, showcasing on the iconic towers of the building. The images, reaching heights of 101 meters above the River Thames, transform the chimneys into vibrant displays after sunset.
Participants like Varsha Simha from Canterbury expressed excitement at being chosen, drawing inspiration from Christmas market scenes during the cold winter months. A 7-year-old winner, Miah D.B, shared joy in creating a tree on iPad, driven by a love for drawing and emotions.
Renowned personalities such as Kylie Minogue, Sir Stephen Fry, and others also contributed drawings to the display. This public competition continues Apple’s tradition of celebrating holiday creativity and marks the first time the company has engaged the public in such an initiative.
The event follows previous Apple collaborations, like artist David Hockney’s “Bigger Christmas Trees on iPad Pro” in 2023 and Aardman’s use of iPhone 16 Pro Max for a festive animation last year. Chawawa, reflecting on the significance of hosting the competition, mentioned the personal connection to Apple products and the joy of involving the community in creating iPad Christmas trees across London.
The illuminated images will adorn Battersea until Christmas Eve, offering a visual delight to residents and visitors alike.
