Sky has released a significant update for its popular Glass TVs and Stream boxes, offering new features at no cost to existing device owners. The update, which started rolling out last week, includes the capability to control Sky’s internet-connected devices using a smartphone and set program reminders directly from the TV guide.

The latest update streamlines the settings menu for easier navigation and introduces enhanced accessibility options like improved contrast controls for text and backgrounds within Sky applications. Sky described the update as an enhancement to their operating system, Sky OS, providing customers with smarter ways to manage their TV experience.

Owners of Sky Glass TVs, Sky Glass Air devices, or Sky Stream boxes can expect these new features to be automatically installed without the need for manual adjustments or device restarts.

Among the newly introduced features, users can now set reminders for their favorite shows, facilitating easy access to program schedules. Additionally, a digital Sky remote app is now available for iOS and Android devices, allowing users to control their TVs, access shows quickly, change channels, and manage playback with ease.

Moreover, Sky has simplified the settings interface, making it more accessible by introducing a quick access menu for essential settings such as picture and sound adjustments, parental controls, and accessibility features.

Furthermore, the update includes various new accessibility features, such as the ability to customize voice guidance speed, adjust high contrast settings in Sky apps, enable magnification mode for zooming up to 400%, and access Audio Description for on-demand shows.

These updates aim to enhance the user experience and accessibility of Sky’s Glass TVs and Stream boxes, offering a more convenient and user-friendly viewing experience for customers.
