Justin Rose expressed his ambition to achieve a career Grand Slam following his victory at the Farmers Insurance Open, where he surpassed Tiger Woods’ scoring record. The 45-year-old golfer, ranked third globally, remains focused on his future in the sport and has no immediate plans to take on the role of European Ryder Cup captain if Luke Donald opts out in 2027.

Rose, starting with a remarkable 62, dominated the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, securing a wire-to-wire victory with a total score of 23-under 265. Surpassing Tiger Woods’ and George Burns’ previous records at the venue, Rose dedicated his win to his stellar performance on the course.

Reflecting on his recent success, Rose highlighted the evolution of his game and mental fortitude, acknowledging that there is still untapped potential within him. With an impressive track record of 13 tour victories at renowned golf courses like Muirfield Village and Pebble Beach, Rose aims to continue pushing himself towards achieving greater milestones in major tournaments.

Despite already claiming the US Open title in 2013 and an Olympic gold medal, Rose remains driven by his desire to secure more major championship wins. Emphasizing his focus on excelling in major tournaments, he aspires to fulfill his childhood dream of completing a career Grand Slam, acknowledging that he is not far from achieving it based on his recent performances.

In contrast, Brooks Koepka finished in a lower position on his PGA Tour return, while Rose, who rejected an early offer from the LIV Golf league, emphasized his commitment to competing against the best players globally on both the European Tour and the PGA Tour. This dedication, he believes, fuels his motivation and drive to pursue his career goals, shunning alternative paths that do not align with his aspirations.
