Law enforcement officers in a northern California county made a startling discovery while investigating a suspected illegal marijuana operation. Authorities in Shasta County uncovered a significant cache of dangerous firearms and weapons in addition to the marijuana farm.

The search led to the revelation of a 100-foot tunnel and a hidden bunker on the property, where various illicit weapons were found, including a sawn-off shotgun. The property belonged to a supporter of the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement.

The bunker, equipped with essential facilities for marijuana cultivation, also featured amenities like a gym, armchair, and television. A flag associated with Trump supporters from the January 6 riot was displayed in the hideaway.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) executed a search warrant at the Anderson residence of Michael Jay Kamfolt, a 40-year-old conservative activist and Trump supporter. The operation uncovered a significant arsenal of illegal firearms and ammunition, prompting concerns about public safety.

The confiscated weapons included three AR-15-style assault rifles, a sawn-off shotgun, and over 10,000 rounds of ammunition. Kamfolt, known for his conservative activism and ties to local political figures, was arrested on various weapons-related charges.

CHP officials emphasized the seriousness of the discovery, highlighting the hidden bunker and the alarming collection of illegal firearms. Kamfolt faces multiple charges, including the possession of stolen firearms and armor-penetrating ammunition.

The investigation, initiated after a tip-off in December, culminated in Kamfolt’s arrest in January. The case underscores the intersection of illegal activities and political affiliations, raising concerns about public safety and firearms regulation.
