Passengers were safely evacuated from a bus that suddenly caught fire earlier today on Ormskirk Road in Aintree. The incident prompted the response of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, who swiftly extinguished the flames engulfing the single decker bus by 12.15pm.

According to the fire service, the bus driver and all passengers were safely removed from the vehicle before the fire spread, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. Ormskirk Road was temporarily closed towards switch island as emergency crews worked to recover the bus, causing disruptions to traffic in the area.

Arriva, the bus operator, confirmed the safe evacuation of all passengers, stating that the incident was being managed by the Merseyside Fire Service. They reassured that everyone on board was unharmed. Efforts were underway to clear the road and restore traffic flow, with motorists advised to find alternative routes to avoid delays.

This incident serves as a reminder for commuters to stay informed about potential traffic disruptions and to prioritize safety during emergencies.
