In Minneapolis, a protester reportedly bit off a Homeland Security agent’s finger on the same day a federal officer fatally shot an American citizen. The Department of Homeland Security revealed that an officer was attacked by a demonstrator and will lose their finger as a result.
Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin of the Department of Homeland Security stated that during the riot in Minneapolis, a protester bit off the finger of an HSI officer. The officer is set to lose the finger due to the attack.
The incident occurred following a controversial response from President Donald Trump to the fatal shooting of the American citizen by a federal agent. The details surrounding the ‘finger biting’ incident are still unverified, but it appears to be linked to the civil unrest spreading across the city.
The victim, Alex Jeffrey Pretti, a 37-year-old American citizen and ICU nurse, was shot and killed by a federal agent. Homeland Security alleged that Pretti violently resisted disarmament and was armed with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and two magazines.
Despite Homeland Security’s claims, a video clip captured a woman denouncing the incident as police brutality. The circumstances of the shooting remain unclear, with conflicting reports about Mr. Pretti being armed.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz condemned the shooting by federal agents and called on President Donald Trump to remove the “violent, untrained officers” from Minnesota. This shooting follows a previous incident where Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother of three, was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, triggering protests nationwide.
