Celebrity Big Brother is back for a new series as fans sit down to watch their favourite celebrities walk into the iconic house. The first five housemates to enter were Chesney Hawkes, JoJo Siwa, Trisha Goddard, Chris Hughes and Patsy Palmer, but things didn’t go as smoothly as planned.
Although ITV had kept the line-up under wraps until tonight’s launch show, rumours had been circulating online, with fans expecting many of the housemates to walk through the door. Before walking in, the celebs divulge information about themselves via their VTs, but fans weren’t impressed with the sound quality.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one penned: “I’m no audiophile, but why were these VTs filmed in a tin can? Better acoustics in my bathroom. #cbbuk #cbb.” Another echoed: “The sound in these VTs is f*****d lol the boom op screwed up bigtime!”
“The sound on this is terrible, missing half of the VT’s I know it’s live, but come on. #CBBUK,” wrote a third, as a fourth disappointed fan penned: “The audio feed on these intro VTs is messy. Is the sound engineer on annual leave? #CBB“.
It’s not the only complaint fans had about the ITV show. Just seconds in, fans took to X to complain that the audience had “ruined” the surprise line-up for them. One fan could be seen holding up a “Chesney” sign before the popstar entered, while one EastEnders fan could be seen holding up a “Ricky and Bianca” sign for Patsy Palmer.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan wrote: “he signs in the audience leaking the cast loool #cbb,” said one as another said: “Not the Patsy Palmer spoilers on that audience member’s banner. #CBBUK“
Speaking about her stint in the house, Patsy, best known for playing Bianca on EastEnders said: “I’m really looking forward to walking through the iconic doors and meeting a group of brand-new people.
“It’s a fascinating experience and that’s one aspect that excites me. I’m also looking forward to having a break from technology. We all spend so much time on our phones etc so having no access to that will be incredibly refreshing.”
Despite looking forward to her stint, Patsy continued: “The main thing I’m going to miss the most is my family. We’re all incredibly close and speak all the time. Meanwhile, JoJo revealed she’d miss her girlfriend the most. “For sure my girlfriend; absolutely my girlfriend. Tied for first place though – my puppy. I have this joke, we always say ‘who do you love more – girlfriend or puppy?’” the Karma singer said.
“And every other day there’s a new favorite; it depends on who’s the better behaved.”
