Dan Edgar is said to have been left shocked by one comment Ella Rae Wise made on her Celebrity Big Brother entrance as they split hours before the show. The TOWIE star, 24, called it quits with Dan, 34, just a week before entering the Big Brother house and being put into lockdown.
Despite the split being so fresh, some fans are predicting a show romance between Ella and Big Brother housemate Chris Hughes. Just before entering the house, Ella shared some reasons behind their split.
She said that while their chemistry was undeniable, she wanted more from the relationship than just physical attraction. Dan had thought their split had been pretty friendly, up until he tuned into Big Brother last night.
The Dancing On Ice star was left “blindsided” by Ella’s brag in her VT for the reality show. In the clip, she said: “I could literally float with a loaf of bread. I could flirt with anything! I’m flirting with the camera.”
Dan’s pals have claimed the comment came as a shock to the star. They confirmed the pair had split last Wednesday after a series of rows but insisted they would remain friends.
“They were still chatting after the big row on Wednesday as had both agreed it just wasn’t working,” a source told the Sun. They explained Dan and Ella remained “amicable” and added: “They were just chatting as normal, the odd text and that, and spoke on Sunday just before she went into lockdown.
“But he was blindsided by the comments she made about being such a flirt last night, and how she flirted with everyone constantly, as that’s just not nice to hear.”
Ella had expressed her sadness as she confirmed her split with Dan just hours before entering the house. “We are not together. And it’s really, really sad that we’re not together. We split up a week ago,” she told The Sun.
“It has nothing to do with Big Brother. It was a decision that I had to make because I didn’t feel that we were getting things that we wanted out of each other.” We can be best friends, but if something’s missing, what are we wasting our time for?”
She claimed Dan was “very set in his ways,” and she can’t expect him to change. “It’s just not enough for me,” she said, speaking on “what he gives in a relationship”.
Fans think Ella could form another connection in the house, with Love Island star Chris Hughes. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: “The way they put the camera straight on Chris when Ella came in they want a showmance chile not subtle at all.”
A second agreed: “The camera IMMEDIATELY panning to Chris when Ella walked in lmao. They know what they’re doing,” while a third said: “Chris seeing Ella walk in the house. He’s going to go for her, isn’t he?! #CBBUK”.
“Calling it now Chris and Ella are gonna have a showmance I can just see it #CelebrityBigBrother #CBB,” echoed another. Chris, who reached the 2017 Love Island final with Olivia Attwood, revealed he was looking forward to getting to know new people in the house.
