Ella Rae Wise has confirmed her split with Dan Edgar, but insists the decision had nothing to do with her current stint on telly. The TOWIE star, 24, called it quits with Dan, 34, just a week before entering the Big Brother house.
Speaking to the Sun, Ella admitted: “We are not together. And it’s really, really sad that we’re not together. We split up a week ago. It has nothing to do with Big Brother. It was a decision that I had to make because I didn’t feel that we were getting things that we wanted out of each other.”
The TOWIE star has opened up a bit more about the reasons behind their split, saying that while their chemistry was undeniable, she wanted more from the relationship than just physical attraction.
She explained: “I just feel that he’s very set in his ways, and I can’t change someone, nor can I expect someone to change either.
“If he’s comfortable in how he is and if he thinks what he gives in a relationship is enough, that’s okay – but it’s just not enough for me. We can’t just be together because we have a great sex life; it’s got to be deeper than that.”
Now that Ella is getting a very public fresh start at being single on Celebrity Big Brother, fans are already predicting that she will get into a flirtationship with fellow contestant Chris Hughes.
The former Love Island finalist previously expressed excitement about meeting new people in the Big Brother house, and viewers thought they noticed a moment of connection between Ella and Chris during the opening episode of the show.
One fan took to social media, writing: “The way they put the camera straight on Chris when Ella came in – they want a showmance, chile, not subtle at all.”
Another added: “The camera IMMEDIATELY panning to Chris when Ella walked in, lmao. They know what they’re doing.”
A third speculated: “Chris seeing Ella walk in the house. He’s going to go for her, isn’t he?!”
Meanwhile, Ella has hinted that she’s open to seeing sparks fly during her time on the ITV show.
She told the Sun: “There could be trouble! There’s nothing wrong with a bit of innocent flirting. It’s not like I’m going to have sex in the house, let’s be honest. You’re in the room with like 12 other people. No way. But there’s nothing wrong with an innocent flirt, I don’t think!”
