Brooke Henderson enjoys the attention she receives while competing in Canada’s LPGA tournament. The Canadian golfer has demonstrated her ability to handle the pressure in both the 2018 event in Regina and last year’s tournament in Mississauga, Ont. Henderson appreciates the support from fans, which fuels her performance on the course.

As she gears up for this year’s competition at Edmonton’s Royal Mayfair Club, Henderson aims to secure her third victory in her home tournament. Reflecting on her past wins in 2018 and last year, she describes them as significant career highlights that hold special memories for her.

Ranked 11th among the top 25 golfers, Henderson has been performing well in major championships, including the Women’s PGA Championship and the Evian Championship where she finished in the top three. This success has boosted her confidence and motivation for the upcoming tournament.

In addition to her on-course achievements, Henderson recently got engaged to Ricky Castro, a Minnesota Twins pitching prospect, and became an aunt. She attributes her improved performance to the positive developments in her personal life, which have contributed to her relaxed mindset on the course.

Henderson leads a group of 15 Canadians competing in the CPKC Women’s Open, which features a field of 156 professionals and amateurs. The tournament, now in its 52nd edition, returns to Edmonton’s Royal Mayfair Club, with Lydia Ko, a three-time winner, aiming for a historic fourth victory.

As the event unfolds, players are contending with unpredictable weather conditions, including rain and mosquito infestations. Despite the challenges, the golfers remain focused on delivering their best performances and making the tournament memorable for fans and supporters.
