The wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, who once lived in a harem with the Prince of Brunei, has been shot and arrested. Jillian Lauren Shriner, 51, was apprehended following a manhunt in Los Angeles related to an attempted murder case. The police were searching for three suspects after a hit-and-run incident near Eagle Rock when they discovered Ms Shriner armed with a handgun.

She was reportedly shot non-fatally in the shoulder when she allegedly raised the weapon. The circumstances leading up to these shocking events remain unclear. But her life, including her status as a New York Times Best Selling author, is worlds away from current headlines. Her acclaimed book, Some Girls: My Life in a Harem, published in 2010, is based on her experiences as a call-girl.

The memoir details her time with Prince Jefri Bolkiah between 1992 and 1995, outlining the system she and other women adhered to. It also reveals that she became the ‘number two’ girlfriend of the Prince, raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars over a three-year span. She discussed how women were typically hired for around three weeks, with some contracts extended to up to two years.

While serving the Prince, the women resided in luxurious houses scattered across the Royal estate, where they were well cared for and earned thousands of dollars for their services. Whenever the Prince was expected, the women were required to attend parties in groups ranging from one to twelve.

The gatherings were known for their lively atmosphere, but it was common knowledge that on most nights, the Prince would vanish for extended periods with one of the women present that evening.

The bassist star’s wife has also been open about her cancer diagnosis. In her brave fight against cancer, Ms Shriner has actively shared her journey on Facebook.

On March 23, she disclosed her challenging ordeal, stating: “Three weeks now. Two back to back surgeries including a full hysterectomy. I feel called upon to mention it, because I know only two people who had this procedure and neither is with us today.”

In a heartfelt show of appreciation from what is believed to be her hospital bed at Glendale Adventist Hospital, she praised her care team in another post, saying: “I have a little bit of the C word y’all.

“I know a lot of us do. I’m here to thank the incredible oncology team here, who pulled me through a complicated operation without a hitch. I am always so grateful for every second of the compassionate, and excellent medical care I receive in my life.”

Before the incident, Ms Shriner made a post regarding her latest book project: “Behold the Monster”. On April 3, she uploaded illustrations seemingly connected to the crimes of serial killer Sam Little, all arranged around a map.

The caption for his photo said: “Taken just before I wrapped on the initial draft of BEHOLD THE MONSTER. Mapping Sam’s killing ground throughout Los Angeles. It warms my heart to know that today, several of the women on this wall have regained their name, and more to come.”
