Punters who stop by Wetherspoons’ latest pub in Spain might find themselves shelling out more than they would back home. Although the menu items and beverages are still reasonably priced, they tend to exceed the costs at the chain’s regular high street locations.

Company executives attribute this price disparity to the higher operational expenses associated with airport-based pubs. They clarify that the prices at the new Spanish pub align with those at their existing outlets in airports and railway stations across the UK.

For instance, a substantial breakfast at the Spanish pub will set you back 10.25 euros (£8.84) compared to an average of £5.09 in the UK.

To compare the pricing, the Mirror undertook a scrutiny of prices at the Alicante pub versus Wetherspoons’ Solihull pub in the West Midlands and Gatwick Airport. However, the comparison was complicated by slight variations in product sizes and ingredients.

Here are some examples:

– Margherita pizza
– All day brunch
– Classic burger
– Chicken, eggs, and beans
– Pint of Stella Artois
– Asahi beer
– Pint of Greene King Abbot Ale
– Guinness 0.0
– Coca Cola/Pepsi (398ml)
