Tributes are being paid to a beloved individual who tragically passed away after reportedly being struck by a vehicle outside a supermarket in County Durham. The incident occurred at the Asda Express garage on Stockton Road in Seaham around 4.50 pm on Thursday (January 15), prompting emergency services to respond to the scene. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man succumbed to his injuries at the location.

Following the event, authorities initiated a homicide inquiry and identified the victim as Daniel Ambler. The 23-year-old’s grieving family described him as a compassionate son and brother, emphasizing the significant loss they are experiencing.

Daniel’s family expressed their devastation over the loss, highlighting his sense of humor, popularity among friends, and ability to bring joy to any situation. Durham Constabulary has launched a murder investigation into the circumstances surrounding Daniel’s death and is appealing for anyone with relevant information to come forward.

Of particular interest to the authorities is a teenager named Ashton Anderson, who is sought on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident. Anderson, described as approximately 5ft 10, slim, with short brown hair, has had his photo released to aid in the search. Additionally, three teenagers and a man in his 50s have been detained in relation to the crime, along with a woman in her teens and two women in their 40s suspected of aiding an offender.
