A physician has been apprehended for purportedly stealing items valued at £2,000 from a supermarket. Lindsey Jae Minshew, aged 40, was arrested in connection to the theft that occurred at a Target grocery store in Jacksonville, Florida, last Friday. The arrest followed a report from an employee who witnessed a woman taking merchandise totaling “$2,716.61 [£1,960],” as stated in the arrest report.
Minshew has been a licensed medical practitioner in Florida since 2012, as per records from the state’s Department of Health. The specific items allegedly taken from the store were not disclosed by authorities.
Upon receiving the report from the store employee, the police identified a black Porsche 911 with Minshew’s license plate, which was observed arriving at the store approximately 30 minutes before the theft. Minshew later reported the car as missing a few days after the incident.
The doctor was detained at the Duval County Jail on January 23, 2026, and charged with grand theft ranging between $750 and $4,999. She was released from custody the following day.
Minshew’s practitioner profile on the Florida Department of Health’s website indicates her affiliation with the medical staff at University of Miami hospital and her possession of a medical license in Pennsylvania.
Her educational background includes a bachelor of science degree from Florida State University, followed by attendance at the University of Utah School of Medicine and further professional training in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.
The website states that there are no criminal offenses on her record that are required to be publicly disclosed. Minshew commenced her practice in 2012, and her license is valid until 2027.
In Florida, medical practitioners risk having their licenses revoked or suspended upon conviction of a criminal offense.
