Samsung and Apple recently launched their latest smartphones, the Galaxy S25 FE and iPhone Air. However, a new device from Chinese company Xiaomi, the Xiaomi 17 Pro, is set to outshine them all. The Xiaomi 17 Pro boasts a large front screen and a unique feature – a mini Dynamic Back Display on the rear case.
This additional screen offers users various interactive options such as receiving notifications like messages and emails, as well as tracking the status of deliveries. Users can customize the display to function as a clock, music player, or a platform for displaying sticky notes. Xiaomi also allows personalization with smart AI wallpapers created from photos of pets or loved ones.
The innovative second screen can also serve as a virtual pet, flight tracker, diary, and aid in capturing high-quality selfies using the dual-lens cameras, with the back display acting as a mini viewfinder for perfect framing.
Xiaomi describes the Xiaomi 17 Pro series as introducing a dual-screen design that seamlessly merges aesthetics with intelligent functionality. The Dynamic Back Display enhances user experience with customizable watch faces, AI wallpapers, virtual pets, notifications, and more.
In addition to the dual display, the Xiaomi 17 Pro series features a rapid-charging capability, supporting 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, which surpasses the charging speeds of its competitors. The phones also house the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor for enhanced performance and efficiency.
While the Xiaomi 17 Pro series is currently unavailable in the UK, it is already on sale in China, with expectations for a wider global release soon.
