Virgin Media has emerged as the top choice for households seeking superior broadband speeds, reliability, and consistent service quality, according to a recent study by Opensignal. The UK-based Internet Service Provider (ISP) outperformed its competitors in all evaluated categories, including Download Speed, Upload Speed, Video Experience, and Consistent Quality.

Principal Analyst, Andrey Popov, highlighted Virgin Media’s exceptional performance in the broadband market, attributing it to the company’s upgraded cable-to-fibre network. Virgin’s Download Speed of 187.8Mbps and Reliability Experience score of 747 points significantly surpassed other providers.

Following closely behind Virgin Media in the rankings was Vodafone, which also received commendable scores across all metrics. Vodafone’s dual-network approach, utilizing both Openreach and CityFibre networks, set it apart in the industry.

Among other notable ISPs, BT secured the third position in categories like Consistent Quality and Download Speed, while Sky excelled in Video Experience, ranking second in this area.

Conversely, Three and TalkTalk found themselves at the lower end of the spectrum. Three ranked lowest in Consistent Quality, Upload Speed, Video Experience, and Reliability Experience, while TalkTalk lagged in download speeds, averaging 55.1Mbps compared to Virgin Media’s 180Mbps+ speeds.
