The family of Masrob Ali, a 54-year-old Uber driver from Blackburn, is mourning his tragic death in a fatal Bolton crash. Masrob was driving his Citroen C4 Picasso on Wigan Road in Bolton when his car collided head-on with a red Seat Leon late on Saturday, January 10. The impact resulted in Masrob’s immediate death at the scene. The three teenagers in the Seat, Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, Farhan Patel, and Muhammad Danyaal Asghar Ali, also lost their lives in the accident. Two passengers from Masrob’s taxi sustained critical injuries and were hospitalized.
Masrob had been a taxi driver for about ten years, often working late-night shifts that concerned his family. His eldest daughter, 29-year-old Humayra, described him as a kind and gentle soul. Family and friends have been offering their support to the grieving family.
Humayra recalled her father as a safe driver and a loving dad, stating that he always reassured them not to worry about his safety. The family was informed that Masrob died instantly in the collision, sparing him from any pain.
Appreciating the Greater Manchester Police’s support, Humayra mentioned the police’s compassionate handling of the situation. She expressed gratitude for the arrangements made by the police to allow the family to bid farewell to her father at the mortuary, despite it being closed on weekends.
The Greater Manchester Police have initiated an investigation into the crash and have gathered CCTV footage of the incident. Humayra confirmed that the footage indicated her father was not at fault and did nothing wrong. Witnesses who have not yet come forward are encouraged to contact the police at 101 for further assistance.
