Three teenagers and a taxi driver sadly lost their lives in a tragic head-on collision in Bolton. The teenagers, identified as Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, Farhan Patel, and Muhammad Danyaal Asghar Ali, were passengers in a red Seat Leon that collided with a Citroën C4 Picasso taxi on Wigan Road around 12.45am on Sunday. The taxi driver, 54-year-old Masrob Ali from Blackburn, also passed away at the scene.
The funerals of the teenagers were attended by hundreds on Tuesday at Zakariyya Jaam’e Masjid, the main mosque in Bolton. Friends and family remembered Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar as a young man full of aspirations and with a captivating smile. The loss of Muhammad Danyaal Asghar Ali was described as deeply painful by a mourner who emphasized that the teenager will always be remembered.
The funeral of Masrob Ali, a father of four and described as “the gentlest soul” by loved ones, will be held in Blackburn. The 54-year-old Uber driver, who had been driving taxis for about a decade, tragically lost his life while on duty.
Family members of Mr. Ali praised his character, emphasizing his kindness and dedication to his family. His eldest child, Humayra, expressed shock at the news of his passing but praised the Greater Manchester Police for their support during this difficult time.
Five individuals from both vehicles involved in the collision are still receiving medical treatment in the hospital, as confirmed by a spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police. The severity of their injuries ranges from potentially life-threatening to minor.
Detective Inspector Andrew Page from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit highlighted the ongoing investigation into the incident and urged caution in sharing sensitive information on social media. He expressed gratitude to the emergency response teams for their swift action and called for any witnesses to come forward with information or footage related to the collision.
