A teenager in Arizona has been arrested and charged with murder and burglary after allegedly killing his 57-year-old neighbor, David Jimenez. Xzavion Johnson is accused of leaving Jimenez’s body in the garden for two weeks before being apprehended by the Phoenix Police Department.
Reports indicate that Johnson had been squatting in Jimenez’s house when police conducted a welfare check after neighbors noticed unusual activity. Johnson’s mother revealed that she hadn’t seen her son for some time but discovered a package addressed to him at Jimenez’s residence. Additionally, a foul odor emanating from Jimenez’s garden led to the discovery of the decomposed body by law enforcement.
Upon police arrival, Johnson barricaded himself inside the house for an extended period before being taken into custody. He admitted to intending to rob Jimenez and fatally shooting him after unlawfully entering the property. The tragic incident unfolded as Johnson brought a stolen gun to the scene on December 29.
In a separate incident, a three-year-old child, Beckett Brown, was fatally attacked by his grandmother’s American Bulldog at her residence. The grandmother, Kristen Nelson, sustained injuries while attempting to rescue the child. Despite their prompt hospitalization, Brown succumbed to his injuries. Authorities confirmed that the dog responsible for the attack was euthanized, and there are no ongoing safety concerns for the community.
The heartbreaking episode occurred in New York Mills, New York, on a Sunday afternoon, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office. An investigation revealed that Brown had entered an outdoor enclosed area where the adult dog was housed.
