A significant development has emerged following the theft of a school therapy dog from a teacher’s residence.

Numerous students were left heartbroken when the cherished pet named Mabel was taken. Emma Butler promptly reported the incident to law enforcement, and a social media campaign was initiated to facilitate the return of the Puli breed dog.

Mabel was snatched from her home last Thursday, leading to a search effort that utilized drones to locate her. Fortunately, she was spotted in a park merely three days later.

Emma, who serves as an assistant head at Tenyham CofE Primary School in Teynham, near Sittingbourne, Kent, expressed joy upon reuniting with Mabel, a four-year-old dog who is immensely popular among the school’s students and staff. Mabel often engages with the children and faculty during her visits to the school.

The dog, originally rescued from Hungary, was taken from her residence on Hazel Street Road in Hucking and was eventually found in Darenth Country Park in Dartford, approximately 30 miles away.

After being located, Mabel was taken to a veterinary clinic where Emma gratefully retrieved her, expressing heartfelt appreciation to everyone who participated in spreading the word. Emma emphasized the pivotal role Mabel plays in their lives, describing her as a beloved therapy dog that has been a cherished presence at the school for two years.

A spokesperson from Kent Police confirmed receiving a report about the dog theft, stating that investigations are ongoing to gather comprehensive details from the dog’s owner.
