Sky TV users are in for some disappointing news as a recent product release is set to be discontinued starting next month. Sky Live, introduced in 2023 as an innovative entertainment device for TV users, is being shut down permanently. The device, designed to connect to Sky’s Glass TV and enhance user experience through motion sensors and a built-in camera, provided interactive games like Fruit Ninja, Stingray Karaoke, and Peppa Pig: Jump and Giggle for a £6 monthly subscription. Additionally, it offered fitness monitoring during home workout sessions and the ability to make Zoom calls and watch content with friends and family via the camera.

Despite its promising features, Sky Live did not gain the expected popularity, leading to its discontinuation on December 4. However, Sky reassures users that games like the newly launched Who Wants To Be A Millionaire will still be available, albeit without an additional subscription fee.

A spokesperson from Sky highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, emphasizing recent expansions in product offerings and service improvements. The decision to discontinue Sky Live is part of a strategic focus on delivering faster, simpler products, quality content, and exceptional service. Customers who purchased Sky Live will receive refunds, with detailed instructions provided via email this week for returning the device with free postage.

The move reflects Sky’s dedication to refining its product lineup based on user feedback and market demands, with a continued emphasis on enhancing the overall entertainment experience for its customers.
