Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors who allege that she engaged in fraudulent behavior by not fulfilling her obligations to develop and promote her mental health startup.
The investors put in approximately $1.2 million in Wondermind Global, a venture launched in 2021 aimed at enhancing users’ mental well-being. According to the lawsuit filed in federal court in Delaware, Gomez, a prominent figure in social media with over 500 million followers, was expected to actively participate in the company’s growth as the head of marketing. However, the investors claim that Gomez and other company executives failed to meet their commitments, such as the creation of a mobile application.
The lawsuit states, “Gomez entered into a contract committing to her responsibilities and then disregarded it.” The plaintiffs further assert that the company did not have a legitimate business plan in place and did not fulfill even the most basic obligations, like timely payments to employees and vendors.
A spokesperson for Gomez has not yet responded to requests for comment. The lawsuit alleges that the investors were unaware of the company’s challenges until they were reported in an online news article in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments along with legal expenses incurred.
