Russia has issued a warning that significant consequences may arise if President Donald Trump proceeds with his intention to acquire Greenland. The US president, described as “eccentric,” aims to station atomic strike forces on the world’s largest island to establish nuclear dominance over Russia and China, as stated by Dmitry Rogozin. Rogozin, a Putin-supporting senator from occupied Ukraine and a former high-ranking official with a background in space exploration and NATO representation, highlighted Trump’s declaration of securing Greenland by any means necessary.

Rogozin, who oversees a military drone unit targeting Ukrainian forces, expressed concerns that Trump’s Greenland plans could lead to catastrophic outcomes. He linked the land acquisition to the US’s proposed ‘Golden Dome’ missile defense system, claiming that Greenland’s strategic location and proximity to Russia make it an ideal site for such military installations.

According to Rogozin, Trump’s actions are not impulsive but align with the Pentagon’s agenda to shift focus from European alliances and establish Greenland as a hub for nuclear offense and defense mechanisms against Russian intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). This move, Rogozin argued, jeopardizes global strategic stability maintained since 1945 and could potentially trigger an unprecedented crisis.

Rogozin emphasized the potential repercussions of escalating tensions, citing historical attempts by the Pentagon to militarize Greenland during the Cold War era. He warned that any attempts to achieve nuclear superiority through Greenland annexation could plunge the world into chaos, with dire implications for global security.

In Rogozin’s assessment, future conflicts may center on the Arctic region, given its strategic importance for the deployment of nuclear weapons and the vulnerability of the area to military confrontations. He underscored the risk posed by advanced technologies, emphasizing the need for international cooperation to prevent a catastrophic scenario.

Rogozin concluded by cautioning against underestimating the potential consequences of geopolitical maneuvers in the Arctic, urging diplomatic solutions to avert a perilous escalation that could have devastating consequences for global peace and stability.
