A fresh contender is entering the UK’s mobile network arena, offering potential savings on monthly bills. Revolut, a finance and tech company, has launched Revolut Mobile, providing early adopters with enticing incentives like unlimited 5G data, calls, and texts for just £12.50 monthly.
This pricing significantly undercuts similar packages from established UK networks like EE and Vodafone, which charge £25 per month. The Revolut deal is particularly attractive for frequent travelers as it includes 20GB of roaming in the EU and the US at no extra cost, allowing seamless connectivity in cities like Paris, Berlin, New York, and Los Angeles without additional fees that many UK networks impose, especially for US travel.
Revolut Mobile offers global messaging through its Messaging Pass in over 80 countries, enabling low-bandwidth data usage for platforms like WhatsApp. Users can also link up to three phone numbers to one plan, simplifying management of work, personal, and travel lines. Furthermore, each subscription includes a complimentary NordVPN membership for secure browsing.
The service is currently being rolled out to waitlisted customers, with full public availability expected by January 2026.
While this move signifies a bold step for Revolut, industry experts caution that success is not guaranteed. Analysts emphasize the importance of strong execution in combining banking services with mobile connectivity, given the competitive nature of the MVNO market.
Despite the challenges, Revolut is confident in its ability to compete with industry giants like EE, Vodafone, and O2. Hadi Nasrallah, General Manager of Telco at Revolut, expressed the company’s commitment to providing a unique and disruptive alternative in the mobile service sector.
Nasrallah stated, “Revolut Mobile is not just another mobile service — it represents a truly distinct option aimed at disrupting the industry. Our goal is to offer top-notch service at a competitive price, enhanced by an exceptional user experience. We’re introducing genuine innovation through features such as multiple numbers and global messaging, while eliminating hidden fees and unnecessary complexity.”
