A mother and her six-year-old twins, who were found deceased, were laid to rest separately against the family’s wishes. The children’s remains were handed over to their ex-husband, who had a history of abusive behavior. Charity Beallis, 40, along with her daughter and son, were discovered shot at their residence in Bonanza, Arkansas during a welfare visit on December 3. Beallis had been going through a contentious divorce with her ex-spouse, and the tragic incident occurred shortly after a court hearing where she was seeking full custody of her children.

Close to the crime scene, several belongings of the family, including framed pictures, children’s artwork, and a gold necklace engraved with the names of Charity’s twins, were discarded in a dumpster and found three days later. The ex-husband, Dr. Randall Beallis, had a previous arrest for domestic violence involving Charity. He was convicted of third-degree battery and was prohibited from contacting Charity or her family without court authorization.

Subsequently, the custody of the twins’ remains was transferred to the ex-husband after he was granted joint custody of the children just before their tragic deaths. Charity’s body was released to her eldest son, John Powell, 24, who laid his mother to rest on December 29. He expressed distress over the situation, mentioning that he was unsure of the children’s final arrangements as he had not been informed by Randall.

Charity had confided in her son that she felt fearful during the custody battle and had expressed frustration at being sidelined by authorities she sought help from. She highlighted the challenges victims face in receiving support and protection. The ex-husband’s lawyer asserted his innocence and stated cooperation with the investigation, emphasizing the hope that the truth about the tragic incident would be revealed by law enforcement.

The circumstances surrounding the deaths of Charity and her twins continue to be under investigation, with the police refraining from naming Randall Beallis as a suspect.
