A 44-year-old man was hospitalized following a police operation in a residential area of Edinburgh. The incident took place on Drum Brae Drive near Clermiston Drive on Tuesday morning. According to a spokesperson from Police Scotland, officers were alerted to an injured man at approximately 9:45 am. The man was subsequently transported to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for medical attention. Police are currently present at the scene and are conducting investigations to determine the complete circumstances.
An eyewitness reported that the man appeared to have suffered a severe injury. Describing the scene to Edinburgh Live, the witness recounted seeing the man with a significant wound on his face, covered in blood. The individual estimated the man to be in his early 40s with grey hair, noting the severity of the situation and the police’s immediate response.
Another local resident mentioned observing a police presence in the area. They described seeing armed officers outside a cordoned-off property with police shields, along with a significant number of police vehicles and officers along Drum Brae Drive. Photos from the scene depicted a portion of the road sealed off with police tape, multiple police vehicles blocking access, and a sizeable police presence.
Due to the road closure, Lothian Buses had to reroute several bus services, impacting routes 1, 17, 21, and 26. The situation caused disruptions in the area, with authorities working to manage the aftermath of the incident.
