A video has emerged online allegedly capturing the moment a man, identified as a Venezuelan immigrant by the Department for Homeland Security (DHS), was shot in the leg by an ICE officer during a traffic stop in Minneapolis. This incident, occurring shortly after the tragic killing of Renee Good, has led to protests in the city.

Following the shooting, the injured man was taken to the hospital where a video posted online shows him screaming for help. The footage depicts individuals inside a residence speaking in Spanish, claiming that ICE agents pursued the man for about half an hour before he reached his home.

Witnesses assert that the ICE agent attempted to shoot the man as he ran towards the house, even firing rounds while children were present. Distressed voices in the video can be heard pleading for assistance due to the presence of young children in the house during the incident.

The DHS stated that the man, allegedly in the U.S. illegally from Venezuela and released into the country in 2022, tried to evade a targeted traffic stop, leading to the confrontation. The department claimed the ICE agent fired in self-defense, fearing for his safety as he was reportedly ambushed by three individuals.

After the shooting, the man and two others sought refuge in an apartment building. Both the victim and the alleged attacker were hospitalized, with the victim receiving treatment for non life-threatening injuries.
