For Android users, it is crucial to promptly check for the latest software update from Google in the device settings. A new release addressing 107 security vulnerabilities in the Android operating system has been confirmed by the US tech giant.

Of particular concern are two zero-day vulnerabilities, indicating that hackers have already identified and are actively exploiting these issues to target Android devices.

Google stated that the most critical security flaw is within the Framework component, capable of causing remote denial of service without the need for additional execution privileges.

The severity rating is based on the potential impact if device protections are bypassed or disabled, according to the company.

Owners of Pixel devices should immediately receive the update. However, users of other Android devices, like Samsung, Honor, and OnePlus, may experience delays in the rollout, underscoring the importance of monitoring and installing the update once available.

Google also emphasized that newer Android versions come with enhanced security measures making exploitation more challenging, urging all users to update whenever feasible.

Guidelines for Updating Your Android Device

• Connect to a Wi-Fi network as updates tend to be large, and Wi-Fi offers faster and more reliable downloads than mobile data.

• Ensure your phone is charged to at least 50% or keep it plugged in during the update process.

• Access Settings, then navigate to System and System update.

• Select Check for update and proceed to download any available updates.

• Upon completion of the download, tap Install. Your device will restart to finalize the installation.

In conclusion, it is strongly advised for Android users to install the update promptly. Once applied, the device will be safeguarded against the latest threats.
