EE has upgraded its broadband services, surpassing competitors like Sky and Virgin Media. They now include Smart Hub 7 Plus routers with all broadband packages, offering faster speeds and improved coverage with WiFi 7 technology. WiFi 7 provides speeds up to 46 Gbps, lower latency, and higher capacity for gaming and high-quality downloads.
Prices for EE broadband packages start at £28.99 per month, going up to £39.99 for the 900 Mbps package. In comparison, Sky only offers the new WiFi 7 hub with its gigabit broadband plans, while Virgin Media has yet to introduce a WiFi 7 router.
Although EE leads in broadband advancements, WiFi 7 compatibility varies across devices and has limited range for larger households. EE’s Smart Hub 7 Plus is standard with their broadband packages, catering to gamers and streamers with future-proof technology.
EE incentivizes switching to their broadband by offering up to £300 in exit fees to new customers. Uswitch recommends EE for reliable service but suggests exploring other providers for cost-saving options or comprehensive TV packages.
While EE excels in customer service and reliability, other providers may offer similar speeds at lower costs. Plusnet, NOW Broadband, or TalkTalk could be better choices for basic internet needs or bundled TV packages. Opting for EE’s slightly pricier packages may ensure a smoother contract experience with fewer issues.
