Noel Clarke, renowned for his portrayal in the science fiction series “Doctor Who,” is facing six sexual offense charges, including two counts of sexual assault, as revealed by England and Wales’ Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on Wednesday. The 50-year-old British actor and filmmaker gained fame for his role as Mickey Smith on the BBC show from 2005 to 2010. Additionally, he is accused of one charge of exposure and three charges of voyeurism, where voyeurism involves observing or recording someone during a private act without their consent, typically for sexual satisfaction, according to CPS.

The alleged incidents involving Clarke reportedly occurred between 2007 and 2016 and are based on complaints from five women. This development comes five years after a report by The Guardian exposed claims of sexual harassment, groping, and bullying made by 20 women against Clarke, with some alleging inappropriate behavior during the filming of “Doctor Who,” allegations that Clarke vehemently denied.

The recent charges were issued following an investigation that commenced in September 2025, as reported by The Guardian. Clarke is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on October 21. Apart from his role in “Doctor Who,” Clarke is recognized for his work in writing and starring in teen crime dramas like “Kidulthood” (2006), “Adulthood” (2008), and “Brotherhood” (2016), which delve into themes of drug abuse, bullying, and street violence in London. He directed “Adulthood” and helmed both directed and produced “Brotherhood.” Clarke’s other notable screen appearances include “Centurion” (2010), “Fast Girls” (2012), “Star Trek Into Darkness” (2013), and the TV series “Bulletproof” (2018-2021).
