David Schumacher, the nephew of the legendary Michael Schumacher, has recently gotten engaged to Vivien Keszthelyi. The couple, who met through a mutual acquaintance and have been in a relationship for several years, made the announcement on social media this past weekend.
David, a racer who participated in the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup for the HRT Ford Performance team, proposed to Vivien while on a romantic trip to the Maldives. Sharing some picturesque moments on Instagram, the 24-year-old expressed his joy by stating, “She said yes. The ocean bore witness to our love, and the sunset sealed our promise. 05.11.2025.” Vivien also expressed her gratitude for all the well-wishes and support from friends and followers.
Among the many who congratulated the couple was David’s father, Ralf, a six-time Formula 1 race winner. Notably, Michael Schumacher, David’s older brother, suffered a severe head injury in a skiing accident in 2013, leading to his current need for constant medical care at home.
Following Michael’s accident, he spent 250 days in a medically induced coma before returning home. Dr. Jussi Posti, a neurosurgeon closely following Schumacher’s case, shared insights on his condition, suggesting that he has likely been in a stable state for the past decade.
In a Netflix documentary released in 2021, Michael’s wife, Corinna, provided an update on his situation. She reflected on the unfortunate accident and the impact it had on their family, highlighting the ongoing challenges they face. Mick Schumacher, Michael’s son, also spoke about the accident and how it has affected their relationship, expressing a deep sense of loss and longing for the conversations they could have had.
The Schumacher family continues to navigate through these challenging times, with the support and love of fans and well-wishers worldwide.
