The British equestrian community is in sorrow following the passing of a rider who died after a fall from her horse during an event. Sarah Yorke, aged 37, was participating in the Aston-le-Walls Horse Trials in Northamptonshire on Friday when the incident occurred.

Medical professionals responded promptly after her fall at fence three, but unfortunately, she could not be saved, as stated by British Eventing. The horse, MGH HERA, was examined by on-site veterinarians, returned to the stable, and was found to be unharmed.

The remainder of the competition scheduled for Saturday, including dressage, cross-country, and show jumping phases, was canceled by British Eventing officials. Yorke, a previous winner, was competing in the BE100 class for the first time with her seven-year-old horse.

Rosie Williams, the Chief Executive of British Eventing, conveyed condolences to Sarah’s family and friends on behalf of the organization. The entire eventing community stands in solidarity with them during this challenging period.

The governing body of the sport confirmed that a comprehensive review will be conducted, and the BE Support Trust helpline is open for assistance. The British Eventing Support Trust expressed condolences to Sarah Yorke’s loved ones and all those impacted by the tragic incident, offering support through the BE Support Trust and Sporting Chance collaboration.

Support is available by calling 07780 008877 at any time to connect with a mental health professional for appropriate assistance during this difficult time.
