In the search for a missing university student who vanished after leaving a nightclub, authorities have discovered a body.

The missing individual, identified as Connor Calleja, a 20-year-old student from Lincoln University, was last captured on CCTV walking along University Bridge in Lincoln during the early hours of Sunday. His stepfather, John Lewis, mentioned that Connor was refused entry at the nightclub Home and was trying to return to his residence.

In a somber development today, Lincolnshire Police announced the discovery of a body in the Foss bank area, a water body near The Brayford Pool. A police spokesperson stated, “Although formal identification is pending, indications suggest that the body belongs to 20-year-old Connor.”

The spokesperson continued, stating, “Connor’s family has been notified and is receiving assistance from trained personnel. No foul play is suspected. We urge the public and media to respect the family’s privacy during this challenging period.”

Authorities expressed gratitude to all who shared the search appeal and provided information to aid in the investigation.

Previously, the University of Lincoln and the Lincoln Students’ Union had pledged to offer support to students impacted by Connor’s disappearance.
