A cherished pub in Buckinghamshire will be closing its doors for the last time this weekend, urging loyal customers to make a final visit before its permanent closure.
The White Horse located on London End in Beaconsfield has declared that today will be its final day of operation. In a message to patrons, the staff confirmed that news of the closure had already spread in the area, stating that Sunday evening would mark the end of service. Expressing gratitude to all those who have supported the establishment over the years, The White Horse has extended an invitation to regulars to drop in before the closure, promising to serve them “a final pint or two” before the doors close for good.
Customers who frequent the pub expressed their sadness on social media platforms, as reported by the Express. One individual wrote, “Very sad. You will be greatly missed as an excellent pub managed by a fantastic group of people. Thank you for all the wonderful times.” Another comment read, “Noooooo! One of the few local pubs with ample space, good food, and friendly staff. It will be missed.”
Operated by the Brunning and Price pub group, the establishment is part of a chain that manages around 81 pubs across the country, including The Rowbarge in Woolhampton and The Horse & Groom in Twyford.
While no official reason has been given for the closure, the pub has recommended its patrons to visit nearby sister venues, assuring Beaconsfield customers that they will still have familiar Brunning and Price options available. The closure signifies the end of an era for the Beaconsfield location, with Sunday representing the final chance for locals to enjoy a drink inside The White Horse.
The closure coincides with the British Beer & Pub Association’s request for discussions with government officials regarding the future of pubs, ahead of the unveiling of a new support package next week. The Mirror has been actively advocating to preserve Britain’s pubs through the Your Pub Needs You campaign.
