Aldi recently revealed a list of priority locations in the UK for new store openings. The ideal sites should accommodate a 20,000 sq ft store with ample parking and good visibility near main roads. Additionally, Aldi is seeking locations for its Aldi Local store format in Central London zones one and two, requiring a minimum of 5,000 sq ft trading space and 3,000 sq ft ancillary space.
Individuals with potential sites matching Aldi’s requirements are encouraged to contact realestateacquisitions@aldi.co.uk. This expansion is part of Aldi’s £650 million investment this year, with a long-term goal of reaching 1,500 UK stores.
In other news, Aldi has increased pay rates for store assistants, with hourly wages rising to a minimum of £12.75 and £14.05 within the M25.
