A tragic case unfolded as a father neglected his daughter to the point of starvation, leading to her untimely death. The heartbreaking discovery was made by the police who found the lifeless body of the five-year-old girl inside a small cot, abandoned and curled up, while boxes of food were left untouched outside her bedroom door.

The father, identified as Robert S. Buskey, Jr., aged 35, confessed and pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Charlotte Buskey. Authorities described the living conditions of the children as a “house of horrors,” with evidence showing severe neglect and malnourishment suffered by Charlotte for an extended period.

Despite the presence of food boxes near Charlotte’s room, she was found emaciated and neglected, underscoring the extent of her suffering. Shockingly, a three-year-old boy was discovered locked in a cage in the living room, alive but subjected to the same neglect and abuse.

Reports indicated that the father isolated his children from the world, neglecting their basic needs and medical care, while prioritizing drugs and video games over their well-being. Tragically, Charlotte’s life was cut short due to the father’s callous disregard for her welfare.

Both children tested positive for cocaine, further highlighting the dire circumstances they were subjected to. The authorities were alerted to the situation when Charlotte became unresponsive, leading them to the grim discovery in the family’s home on Elmer Avenue, New York.

Charlotte’s room, which was locked from the outside, lacked proper bedding, forcing her to sleep in a small cot she had outgrown. The neglect and deprivation she endured were evident in her physical state, with signs of severe dehydration and starvation upon examination.

In a chilling confession, Buskey admitted his culpability in his daughter’s death, acknowledging his indifference to human life and the grave risks he exposed his children to. Despite his past involvement in MMA competitions, his actions in this case were described as reflecting a complete disregard for human life, warranting severe consequences.

Buskey also admitted guilt to criminal sale of a controlled substance to a child, further implicating him in the tragic events. As he awaits sentencing, facing a potential sentence of 27 years to life in prison, the gravity of his actions and their devastating impact on his children cannot be understated.
