An examination conducted on the death of mother Renee Good has determined which of the three gunshots fired by an ICE officer was responsible for her demise during an incident in Minneapolis.

The autopsy, requested by Renee’s family, revealed that she sustained gunshot wounds to her left forearm and breast, with the latter not causing any damage to vital organs. However, neither of these injuries was deemed life-threatening.

According to attorneys representing the family, a third bullet entered Renee’s head near the temple and exited on the right side, causing a graze wound. The autopsy was conducted by an esteemed independent medical pathologist, as stated by the family’s legal representatives.

Attorney Antonio M. Romanucci, who previously represented the family of George Floyd, expressed confidence in the evidence gathered and yet to be collected, asserting that it will support their case. The lawyers emphasized the importance of video evidence from the incident on January 7, 2026, highlighting the need to assess the events based on reasonable policing standards and the overall circumstances.

The official autopsy report from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office regarding the January 7 shooting has not been released at this time.

Renee, aged 37, was shot while in her SUV during an encounter with ICE agent Jonathan Ross. The sequence of events involved Ross recording Renee and her partner before positioning himself in front of their vehicle.

Subsequently, another ICE agent instructed Renee to exit the SUV, prompting her to move the vehicle forward. Conflicting reports emerged regarding whether Renee intentionally struck Ross with the car, with video footage suggesting she maneuvered to avoid him.

Following the shooting, Ross was heard making derogatory remarks before Renee’s SUV collided with parked cars. The incident has stirred controversy, with conservatives supporting Ross’s actions and liberals condemning the shooting.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem labeled Renee as a “domestic terrorist” without substantiating the claim, alleging that Ross acted in self-defense.

In response, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey criticized federal officials and demanded that ICE leave the city of Minnesota. The FBI has initiated an investigation into the shooting.
