Tiger Woods recently shared that he will be taking a break from golf following a back surgery he underwent in October. This surgery marked his seventh procedure on his back and the third major operation within the past two years, including surgeries on his Achilles and ankle.
Despite his acclaimed career that began almost thirty years ago, Woods has faced challenges with injuries, with his last Major win being the Masters in 2019 after an 11-year gap. While he managed to host his annual Hero World Challenge tournament in the Bahamas, he acknowledged the extended recovery period required before returning to competitive play.
In a lighthearted remark, Woods mentioned playing numerous events but later emphasized the need to focus on his recovery before deciding on his future schedule. He highlighted the gradual rehabilitation process he is undergoing, mentioning that he has recently been cleared to resume chipping and putting after a six-week recovery period from the disc replacement surgery.
With a strong drive to potentially break the PGA record for all-time tournament wins, currently tied at 82 with Sam Snead, Woods is motivated to achieve further success. Notah Begay III, a close friend of Woods, pointed out that one of his biggest challenges post-surgery is the physical demand of navigating the golf course.
Woods remains dedicated to his recovery process, aiming to regain strength and mobility for a potential return to professional golf in the future.
